Children at Hoghton school 'devastated' after vandals destroy woodland classroom
The incident unfolded at around 3pm on Saturday, March 25 when four youths were reportedly spotted on the roof of Brindle St Joseph's Primary School, say police.
Officers from Chorley attended the school on Bournes Row, Hoghton and discovered that the woodland classroom was on fire.

Hide AdA spokesman for the fire service confirmed that two engines from Preston and Bamber bridge were called to the incident and extinguished the blaze with hose-reels.
The fire, is thought to have caused around £10,000 worth of damage to the outdoor area.
Headteacher for Brindle St Josph's school, Mrs Ward said: “Everybody connected with St. Joseph’s Catholic Primary School is devastated that an area of our grounds so loved and extensively used has been needlessly destroyed.
"The children cannot understand how anybody could come onto our grounds and treat our property with such disrespect.

Hide Ad"The police are doing everything they can to catch the individuals responsible and we are hopeful that this will indeed happen.”
Police are now appealing for information and are asking witnesses to get in touch.
Temporary Sergeant for Chorley Police, Paul Harrison said: "We were made aware that four youths were on the roof of the school at around 3pm on Saturday March 25.
"The youths had already made off from the scene when we arrived. Luckily, nobody was hurt during this incident.

Hide Ad"Our investigation is progressing and we are currently pursuing some information that has been passed to us. We are, however, still appealing to the public to get in touch and let us know if they saw anything."
