A carer who lifted a sleeping six stone dementia patient by his arm and leg and dropped onto his bed has been jailed for 56 days at Preston Crown Court.

Krisendutt Vibert, 52, Ellerslie Road,Ashton, Preston, is barred from working with vulnerable people after being found guilty of ill treatment.

Elderly Eddie McCann, who passed away in January, screamed as Vibert aggressively lifted him in order to turn him.

A member of staff at Greenfield Nursing Home in Tag Lane, Ingol, Preston, blew the whistle on Vibert, known as Desmond, after witnessing his behaviour.

Vibert was a bank worker in the Beech House unit of the home, where the most disabled and vulnerable patients reside.

Nine workers from the home turned up to support Vibert from the public gallery.
