Police are appealing for information on burglars who stole a much-loved watch from a pensioner’s home.
The theft took place between 10.30am on Tuesday January 13 and 10pm on Friday January 16 on Seymour Road, Preston, while the 88-year-old was out.
The thieves forced a window frame open and took a substantial amount of cash and an extendable gold watch with distinctive engraving on the outside stating it was a gift for 40 years’ service at British Aerospace.
PC Iain Shrager from Preston Police said: “This was a callous theft where an elderly man has had a significant amount of money stolen and his treasured gold watch.
“I am appealing for anyone who may have seen this watch, or who has been offered one like this for sale, particularly with the distinctive engraving to get in touch. We would really like to reunite the victim with this watch as it was of huge sentimental value to him.
“Similarly, if you have any information about this incident, please come forward.”
