Police are appealing for information after a man was seriously assaulted on one of the busiest nights of the Christmas festivities.
The 48-year-old was confronted by three men on the car park behind a taxi office in Moorgate, Ormskirk on December 21. Officers say he was punched to the ground and his head was stamped on before the offenders made off towards Aughton Street.
The men were described as white males aged early twenties all with short dark hair. One was wearing a blue top, white shirt and black trousers, another was wearing a blue top, navy jeans and training shoes and the third was wearing dark clothing.
The victim was taken to Southport Hospital where he was treated for a fractured jaw. He has also been left with blurred vision.
PC Martin Sullivan said: “This was a vicious and brutal attack. At the time of the assault a queue of potential witnesses had formed at the taxi rank. The victim was assisted by members of the public as he lay unconscious on the ground.”
