Breaking: Murder probe in Preston after stabbing

Officers were called out just after midnight on Thursday to an address on Geoffrey Street, where a man was stabbed in the stomach.

The 26-year-old man was taken to Royal Preston Hospital but was pronounced dead there.

A police spokesman said: “Enquiries are ongoing to establish how the man sustained his injuries.

“A 22-year-old woman from Preston has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is currently in custody.”
