Attacker slashes teenager’s face

A teenager has had his face slashed in an attack near a Preston bookmakers.

Emergency services were called to New Hall Lane at about 6.25pm on Tuesday, after reports of the incident near to Betfred.

The 18-year-old man was taken to hospital with a two-inch cut to his face, believed to have been caused by a knife.

His condition was not thought to be life threatening.

Police are now appealing for witnesses to come forward.

Force incident manager inspector Martin Bishop said: “Police have commenced an investigation and we are doing house-to-house and CCTV inquiries in order to identify the offender, who was described as not known to the victim.”

The attacker is described as male, wearing a navy blue Adidas jacket and riding a push bike.
