Arrests made after city centre fight

Three teenagers have been arrested after a fight broke after a fight broke out on a busy city centre street.

A group of teenagers were seen fighting with another group of males on Saturday at around 4.25pm in the city centre on Friargate.

Nobody was seriously in the fight but a weapon is thought to have possibly been used.

Police are appealing witnesses with the street busy with shoppers at the time.

DS Jerry Sturgess of Preston CID said: “Luckily no-one appears to have been seriously injured but we appeal for anyone who has seen this incident to come forward with any information that may help.

“It must have been distressing and upsetting for anyone in the area at the time.”

Anyone with information about the incident or about the offenders can contact Preston Police on 101 quoting log reference 977 of June 6.

Two 16-year-old boys and a 14-year-old boy from Preston have been arrested on suspicion of a public order offence.
