Appeal after 77-year-old hurt in crash

A police appeal has been launched after an elderly woman suffered serious injuries following a collision in Preston.

At around 2pm on Thursday, December 3, officers were called to Watling Street Road close to the junction of Fulwood Hall Lane after reports a red BMW car had collided with a pedestrian.

A 77-year-old woman from Preston suffered serious leg, arm and head injuries and was taken to Royal Preston Hospital for treatment.

The 70-year-old driver of the BMW was uninjured.

The road was closed for two hours while accident investigators attended.

Temp Sgt Adam Dawson of the Blackpool Road Policing Unit said: “Roads policing officers are investigating the circumstances of the collision and the driver is assisting with the enquiries.”
