A man who repeatedly stole booze from Leyland’s Morrisons supermarket has been jailed for 26 weeks after a court ruled he had a “flagrant disregard” for people and property.

Michael Anthony Roberts, 35, of no fixed abode, appeared before Preston magistrates and admitted three counts of theft.

The court heard he had stolen from the store twice on November 10, and again the following day.

The bottles of vodka, Jack Daniels whisky and brandy, amounted to £234.

He was ordered to pay an £80 victim surcharge and a £180 court charge.
