A man has admitted having sexual activity with a school girl he struck up a relationship with in a Preston neighbourhood.
Richard Troughton, 63, and formerly of Ravenswood, Ribbleton, admitted three counts of sexual activity with a child during an appearance at Preston Crown Court.
Troughton, who wore a dark grey V-neck jumper over a bright green T-shirt, also admitted a charge of inciting the child, a 15-year-old girl, to engage in sexual activity.
The court heard the offences took place between May 30 and July 3 this year.
The complainant cannot be named for legal reasons.
Troughton, who has been remanded in custody for the 10 weeks since his arrest, shook his head as the judge, Stuart Baker, remanded him again until his sentencing hearing on October 14.
Prosecuting, Emma Carter said: “He readily accepts the relationship had been going on for a few weeks and had progressed.”
She added the victim and her mother had made personal impact statements to the court.
Defending, Darren Lee-Smith said: “He has pleaded guilty to the fourth count on the basis that whilst he may not have initiated the contact between the parties, he did nothing to stop it, as he should have done.
“He wishes to be sentenced as soon as possible.”
An application for a sexual offences prevention order (SOPO) has been made.
