Preston Council has been shortlisted for four awards in this year’s Association of Public Service Excellence (APSE) awards.
The categories are: best renewable energy and energy efficiency initiative; best information and communications technology initiative; best public/voluntary partnership working initiative; and overall council of the year.
Coun Matthew Brown, cabinet member for community engagement and inclusion, welcomed the shortlisting.
He said: “To be shortlisted for these awards is fantastic and a credit to the hard work, dedication and innovation of council staff for the benefit of the people of Preston.
“The APSE awards are nationally recognised as a measure of excellence in local government frontline services and to be in the running for four awards is a great achievement.”
The awards will be announced on September 5.
