Cordon goes up around scene of suspected murder

Detectives and uniformed officers sealed off the scene as concerned neighbours came out of their houses to witness the scene of a suspected murder.

Scene of crime officers were spotted going into the Preston house in which a social worker was stabbed during a visit there.

Police were called to Glebe Close in Fulwood, close to the old Sharoe Green Hospital site, following reports of a knife attack.

Some neighbours were spoken to by police officers investigating the incident.

One worried mother stood at the police cordon and told the Lancashire Evening Post she was stunned.

Elsewhere business was going on as normal with the postman delivering the mail to neighbouring homes and a schoolboy riding round on a bicycle.
