The Lancashire Evening Post is compiling a collection of the county’s best recipes.

Reporter CATHERINE MUSGROVE spoke to some of our top amateur chefs who have agreed to share their recipes...and now we want you to tell us yours.

Family kitchens are filled with great recipes built up over generations.

They’re stuffed with the memories of cooking by mum and dads, grans and grandfathers gathered over the years.

In these rooms, the most important item is often the rag-eared recipe book containing the knowledge of these special cooks – the family members who always seem to be able to create delicious family meals at the drop of a hat, from the simplest of ingredients – no matter how many sit down to the table.

The Evening Post is launching The People’s Cookbook, in an attempt to bring together some of that culinary knowledge in a single publication, passing on family recipes for new cooks to enjoy.

Now we need you to send in your family favourite recipes, the ones gran used to make, the ones you want to pass on, and we will put them together in a great cookbook...The People’s Cookbook.

Send your recipes, complete with a picture of the finished dish and a picture of yourself, to catherine.musgrove@jpress.co.uk or write to:
