Three hundred new jobs are being created at a Preston contact centre as a firm expands its operations.

HGS Europe, a subsidiary of Hinduja Global Solutions Limited, is recruting 500 new jobs in Preston and Selkirk in both front and back office positions.

The creation of these 500 new roles across our sites in Preston and Selkirk will provide significant career opportunities in the local areas, and allow us to achieve our growth ambitions

Based in Tulketh Mill, HGS Preston employs over 400 people and has established its reputation as a customer retention and loyalty centre and is home to a high performing retention campaign for UK based telecom firm TalkTalk.

Roles now on offer include customer service, sales. retention, and technical helpdesk.

HGS said today it was launching a large-scale recruitment campaign to attract local candidates looking for roles in the customer service industry.

The company says it has seen strong organic growth, supported by new business wins and technological enhancements, which capitalise on self-help solutions, business analytics and robotic automation processes

HGS’s centre in Preston is a three time winner of ‘Best Large Contact Centre’ at the Contact Center World Awards.

Other HGS clients include Unilever, Danone, Kimberly Clark, Virgin Health as well as government departments such as UK Visas & Immigration, Department for Energy & Climate Change .

HGS’s Selkirk centre on the Scottish borders is home to a range of customer support campaigns for clients including Quadrant Subscription Services, Lloyds Banking and Astra Zeneca.

The news comes just weeks after it was announced 200 jobs are to be created at another Preston call centre as a result of growing workloads. NCO Europe Limited announced today it plans to hire at its site at New City House, Ringway, Preston, in the coming months.
