People across Preston are being urged to complete their electoral registration forms as soon as possible to ensure they can have their say.
Neighbours have received their electoral registration forms through the post later than usual this year.
This is to ensure the electoral register is as up-to-date as possible ahead of next year’s elections, including the European Parliament elections. Preston’s Electoral Registration Officer and Chief Executive, Lorraine Norris and her staff have been sending forms to all households in Preston to compile the new electoral register.
Mrs Norris, said: “Registering to vote is very important and it is quick and easy to do.
“To register all you have to do is update the annual canvass form with details of everyone who lives in the household and is eligible to vote, and then return the form to us as soon as possible. It’s your vote, don’t lose it.”
If you haven’t received your form call 01772 906908.
There are two versions of the register. The full version and the edited version. Everyone’s details appear on the full version but individuals can choose whether or not their details appear on the edited register.
