Who will take the honours for the most innovative recycling project?
That’s the question today as we focus on the Lancashire Green Awards celebrating the best of your efforts across the county.
These prestigious awards recognise and celebrate the environmental achievement of individuals and groups of people from across the county however big or small the impact is.
Today we are featuring the Best Recycling Project Award, sponsored by Preston-based Remsol.
This award is open to any group, organisation or company that addresses environmental issues through its actions.
We want to know of any projects you have undertaken that address the issues of recycling. Please outline your project strategy and what targets you aim to achieve.
Also, explain how the project helps the environment and show good use of recycling or recyclable materials.
Last year’s award was won by Sams (Scrap Art Material Store) from Blackburn who bring together public, private and voluntary organisations with an aim of raising recycling and environmental awareness.
Joanne Mason, SAMS project supervisor said: “It’s great to get recognition, and since winning the award in 2012, we have gained new members from the Preston area.”
The awards as a whole are also sponsored by Remsol, which provides prevention-led waste management services that help businesses to cut waste, recycle more and save money.
In its ten-year history it has consistently delivered improved service levels and regulatory compliance safely, with higher recycling levels and lower costs.
