Community scheme swaps broken garden tools for vouchers

A garden centre wants green-fingered customers to trade in gardening tools and help local community groups.

Leyland Garden Centre, on Southport Road, Ulnes Walton, is asking for old and broken tools between Saturday and February 28.

Christina Smith, manager of the garden centre, said: "The tools are repaired in UK prisons, for schools and community gardens."

Anyone bringing in tools will receive a 20%-off tools voucher.
