RESEARCHERS at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals have backed International Clinical Trials Day with a special seminar.
The team said during its ‘What Research did for me’ seminar that taking part in a clinical trial can change patient’s lives.
The seminar was aimed at letting staff know about research trials and opportunities for patients.
Sarah Goddard, respiratory research nurse for Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, said: “In many cases our doctors will tell patients about research, but not all consultants know about the different trials that we are working on so we want to raise awareness among our staff.
“We also want to encourage patients and their carers to ask about clinical research, and whether it might be right for them or their loved one.”
