A sportswear firm has donated hundreds of clothing items to a Preston charity
Kukri, which is based in Walton Summit, has handed over 200 hoodies and t-shirts to Luv Preston.
The charity, which provides care and support to those who find themselves disadvantaged and disconnected in the Preston community was presented with the festive box of kit by Preston’s female boxing champion and Kukri ambassador Lisa Whiteside and Kukri’s Woody Morris.
Lisa said: “Being Preston born and bred I’m honoured to have been asked by Kukri to present the donation to Luv Preston. It’s such a great cause and the charity does a lot in the city and the local community to help people, who for no reason of their own find themselves in need of help. It’s lovely to be able to give something back to the city that has helped me over the past 27 years.”
The donation, which was in response to an appeal from Luv Preston for clothing, included 100 hoodies and t-shirts from the Kukri Hong Kong Sevens merchandise range.
The donated kit will be given out at the Luv Preston soup kitchen and drop in centre which operates every Tuesday evening at 6pm at St Wilfred’s Church in Preston.
Luv Preston Director Pete Carrington said: “We’re extremely grateful to Kukri for this kind donation. It’s come at a good time, this is the time of year when we need clothing, such as hoodies and jumpers to keep those who are sleeping rough or in sheltered accommodation warm.”
