Volunteers from Fishwick Rangers youth organisation are joining forces with Preston Council to clean up New Hall Lane in a new campaign to crack down on fly tipping, litter and dog fouling.
Enforcement, education and recycling officers will be visiting community groups and local schools to educate the residents about litter and the environment and a clean up will take place today.
Cabinet Member for Community and Environment, Coun Robert Boswell said: “It is fantastic that Fishwick Rangers have offered their assistance in the litter pick. It is great to see people taking pride in how Preston looks.
“Last time a clean-up was done in the New Hall Lane area, there was around 30 young people participating and it made a real difference.
“It is excellent members of the community are taking matters into their own hands and are hoping to educate the next generation and crack down on such activities in the New Hall Lane area.”
