Labour councillors have won the vote in two Lancaster City Council and one Lancashire County Council by-elections.

The results of the by-elections, held yesterday, Thursday May 5, are as follows:

Lancaster City Council Carnforth and Millhead Ward

Phil Dunster, Liberal Democrats, 74

Robert Wilson Gillespie, United Kingdom Independence Party, 134

John Robert Reynolds, Labour Party, 702 - ELECTED

Cait Sinclair, Green Party, 49
