The Church of England in Lancashire has taken to social media to launch its plans for a massive summer festival in the county.
New Bishop of Blackburn Julian Henderson appears on a new animated YouTube video making a personal invitation to all sections of the community to attend the weekend event, on June 21 and 22, at Arnold KEQM School in Lytham St Annes.
Thousands are expected to attend from churches and schools, with clergy and headteachers across Lancashire being encouraged to send their congregations and pupils to the festival.
On the Saturday, events will include workshops, a jazz band, garden games, clowns and worship and praise events. There will also be a football cage, bouncy castle, rodeo sheep and a climbing wall. The day will finish with a ceilidh.
Sunday will focus on evangelism and those attending will be encouraged to bring friends to hear more about the Christian faith and join in an informal worship event.
Bishop Julian said: “It is important that we have fun and fellowship together as a church, but also take every opportunity to introduce others to Jesus. This weekend will tick both those important boxes and I am looking forward to it immensely.”
The video is available on the Diocese’s YouTube channel.
