Scouts and Guides in Chorley will celebrate St George’s Day on Sunday.

More than 20 Scout groups will gather at Astley Park for a parade starting at 2pm.

They will walk through the park, turning left at the cafe and walking onto a field where groups will take the salute.

A service will start at 2.25pm. It has been organised by young people.

Afterwards, the parade will be dismissed and there will be an afternoon of activities.

They include face painting, tug of war, a coconut shy, welly throwing, circus skills, a bouncy castle and birds of prey.

Activities run from 3pm to 4.30pm.

The Guides will attend a service at St Laurence’s Church, on Union Street, at 2pm.

The Mayor and Mayoress of Chorley, Coun Roy Lees and his wife Margaret, will attend.
