Clitheroe Police are teaming up with the RSPCA to host an event for local dog owners.
Members of the public are invited to attend Clitheroe Police Station between 5pm and 7pm on Thursday, August 22, with their dogs to get them chipped for a £10 fee.
The chipping involves a microchip with the owners details being safely implanted under the dog’s skin.
PCSO Adam Mellor said: “Chipping a dog allows a lost or stolen dog to be traced and reunited back with their owners and they also act as a deterrent to potential dog theft.
“The nearest RSPCA centre where people can get their dogs chipped is in Altham so we thought we would bring the service to local people to save them having to travel.”
Attendees do not have to live in Clitheroe.
