Chinese New year was celebrated in style on Preston’s Flag Market on Saturday.
Scores of people turned out to enjoy a range of displays and workshops, including lion dancing, singing, table tennis, brush painting and chopstick games.
Feixia Yu, director of the UCLan Confucius Institute, organised the event.
She said: “It’s all about bringing the community coming together. When it’s a cold winter’s day, you’ve got the lions, the music and the singing to pick you up.
“I love the fact that Preston is such a welcoming place. When we started our celebrations we had loads of people on the Flag Market, of all different ages.
“Every year this gets bigger and bigger and it’s lovely to see people enjoying themselves.
“There’s such a nice fusion here, for instance people from Preston learning and singing traditional Chinese love and folk songs.”
