A Preston charity’s mascot has visited primary school children to support them in their fundraising efforts.

Cardiac Carl from Heartbeat joined youngsters at Wesham CE Primary School who were taking part in a sponsored ‘Jump Rope Challenge’ in aid of Heartbeat and The British Heart Foundation.

The school is undertaking the challenge for the heart charities this month and hope to raise as much in sponsorship as they can.

Heartbeats Fundraiser Lisa Riding said: “Cardiac Carl and all of us here at Heartbeat would like to wish the children of Wesham C of E Primary luck in their ‘Jump Rope’ Challenge.

“It was great to meet such an enthusiastic group of children. I am sure the challenge will be a success and I am sure you will all look after those hearts”

Sponsored events are important to the charity as the money collected will go towards its on-going work provided to local people that require heart rehabilitation.

Schools looking to take part in a sponsored events or who would like to meet Heartbeat’s mascot Cardiac Carl should contact the Hearbeat fundraising team by calling 01772 717147.
