An independent advisor from charity Planning Aid will talk about neighbourhood plans at a public meeting organised by Euxton Parish Council.
Neighbourhood planning was introduced by the Government under the Localism Bill to allow communities to decide the future of the places where they live and work.
It allows residents to have a say on where new homes, shops and offices should be built, what those buildings should look like, and whether planning permission should be granted.
The meeting is being held so people can find out more about neighbourhood planning, ask questions and have their say on whether it should be adopted in Euxton.
It starts at 6.30pm at Euxton PC Community Centre, on Wigan Road.
