Community groups are being urged to bid for grants of upto £30,000.
The cash pot from Preston Council is for projects which aim to improve the quality of life for local people.
Applications will be considered from voluntary, community and faith sector organisations which demonstrate a contribution to one of the three funding theme: sports, arts and culture; tackling economic exclusion; and cleaner, greener and safer city.
Coun Matthew Brown said: “Despite large reductions in the Councils overall budget we remain committed to supporting the voluntary, community and faith sector in Preston through our grant aid support.
“The aim of these grants is to improve the quality of life for local people, to ensure that all members of the community have a voice and to invest in local organisations that are in a position to provide high quality services that make a significant contribution to communities.”
