Carnival of dance moves

Waiting for Video...

Schoolchildren put the half-term break to good use – by putting on their dancing shoes and learning new moves.

The youngsters spent a week learning different styles of dance, including modern and musical theatre, at New Longton Village Hall.

The sessions were led by Louise Ross. On Friday, the group of 15 children, aged between four and 12, invited family and friends to watch a showcase of their dancing.

The show’s theme was based around a Copacabana carnival, and the girls and boys made T-shirts during the week which they could wear on the day.

Louise said: “They were brilliant, they were so good.

“I think they all enjoyed it. I am so proud of them.

“A lot of them come on a regular basis.

“They have a good time and the show was amazing.”
