Plans to demolish the former Deepdale Day Centre and replace it with a 96-bedroomed care home are back on the table.
The application to build the residential care home at Flintoff Way had been recommended for approval, but was deferred at the last planning committee meeting over concerns of access to the site for construction traffic.
Now extra information has been provided, and the plans look set to be given the green light at a meeting on January 12.
A report to councillors states that the home “would replace an existing former community use with an alternative community use”.
It states: “The proposed development would not have any unacceptable impacts upon residential amenity, ecology, landscaping and trees, street scene or the Fulwood Conservation Area.
“The proposed building would have a modern design incorporating a mixed materials palette.
“The objection received has been taken into consideration and the issues raised have been addressed through the consideration of the application and through conditions.”
The council received a letter of objection from the Healthcare Centre in Flintoff Way and also a letter of support from a doctor at the same Healthcare Centre.
