Capture the magic of mystical gardens in new competition

A competition has been launched to find the best photos of the mystical and much-loved Rivington Terraced Gardens in Chorley.

It’s open for anyone to enter, with two categories; one for people aged under 18, the other for those aged over 18. The best images will win a prize and feature in a calendar set to go on sale later this year.

The theme for the calendar is Reviving Rivington and the organisers are looking for entries that capture the Gardens’ character, wildlife and structures throughout the year.

It is the latest in a series of activities which are part of a Heritage Lottery-funded restoration project at the Gardens. The project, which is managed by Groundwork on behalf of the Rivington Heritage Trust, is set to restore, maintain and protect the area for future generations to enjoy.

To enter the competition all you need to do is email your image to [email protected]. Entries must be your own work and at least 5MB in size. You’ll also need to include your name, age (junior or adult) and contact details. Entries are limited to three per person and the competition closes on 1 September 2017.
