Staff at Preston’s RSPCA Centre are sending out an SOS this Easter, but it’s not for chocolate eggs
They are desperate to find homes for some of the long term residents at the Ribbleton Lane shelter.

Top of the list is Eddie who arrived at the shelter last September when his owner could not longer keep him.
Poor Eddie has been overlooked time after time, despite his gorgeous personality.
Animal care assistant Jess Towriess added: “He really is a sweet boy who is finding kennel life very stressful and lonely.”
Unfortunately Eddie doesn’t enjoy the company of other dogs and would need to be an only pet.
Jess said: “He has lots of energy and loves nothing more than a nice stroll and a cuddle and a kiss. He really would love a home he can call his own.”
Staffie Gemma really is living life on the edge. She arrived at the centre from the dog pound on was on her last day – the shelter literally proved a stay of execution.
Jess said: “We were her get out of jail free card. She is a sweet girl who loves nothing more than to play with her toys. She is always helping out on reception and is a pleasure to be around.”
Bailey is a seven-year-old large crossbreed who ended up at the centre after his owners separated. He is described as a “playful big boy and enjoys nothing more than a nice walk and a good play.”
Due to his size, Bailey is quite strong so has had training for his lead work.
One-year-old lurcher Fletcher is little more than a pup who knows all his basic commands and loves nothing more than a game of fetch.
