Budding actors, proud Prestonians and lively characters are being called upon to take part this year’s Preston Christmas advert.
Town centre bosses are calling for people to get involved with the city’s ad which is set to be aired late next month.
The ad aims to promote everything on offer in the city this Christmas and will be longer than in previous years.
Mark Whittle, marketing and events manager for Preston’s Business Improvement District (BID) said: “Most large towns and cities promote their destinations offer at Christmas, it’s one of the most crucial trading-seasons of the year.
“Preston has had a regional TV advertisement since 2009 funded by the Business Improvement District. This year we have increased the advert’s length and we’ll be on air for 30 seconds per advert, instead of the previous 20 seconds.
“The advert will air on ITV Granada, to a potential audience of almost 5million people from November 29 until the December 13. The advert will be entirely filmed in Preston highlighting the positives of the city centre, particularly at Christmas. It will include Christmas shopping, hospitality & leisure and the theatre.
“We’re working to secure some prime slots for the advertisement in key programmes.”
To take part in the filming people need to available during the day on Monday October 21 and able to attend the Playhouse Theatre in Market Street West.
