The buyer of an ancient aristocratic title has been revealed as a top university professor.
A mystery man bought the Lord of Bowland title, which dates back over 1,000 years, last month.
The Manorial Society has now revealed the buyer is a 49-year-old Cambridge University professor who specialises in the history of Lancashire, its place names and dialects and has ancestral links to the Forest of Bowland.
