Firefighters in Lancashire received more than 250 calls in a five hour period on Bonfire Night.
The majority of calls related to small bonfires and crews attended 171 incidents.
A spokesman for Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service said: “This year’s Bonfire Night has passed safely without significant incident in Lancashire, although it continued to be one of the busiest nights of the year for the service.
“From 6pm on November 5 until 11pm there were 251 calls for assistance in Lancashire.
“Many of these were well intentioned or duplicated calls but did not need a fire engine to attend.
“However, crews did attend 171 incidents, the majority of which were small fires or bonfires that callers were concerned about but which crews saw to be safe or well controlled.
“The majority of 999 calls - 57 – were reported in the Blackburn area, with 27 incidents in the Skelmersdale area and 28 in and around Blackpool.”
