Lancashire accountants Danbro took the coveted Business of the Year prize at a sell-out awards ceremony celebrating the cream of the county’s companies and entrepeneurs.

The Be Inspired Business Awards took place at Blackpool Tower last night, with prizes being presented in 19 categories.

Lytham-based Danbro took Business of the Year, and Ian Hall of Spar firm James Hall and Sons was honoured with the lifetime achievement Lancastrian of the Year award.

South Ribble based Cleanall Services took home two trophies.

Former Dynasty actress Stephanie Beecham hosted the proceedings and the after-dinner entertainment was provided by harmony group The Overtones and Smooth FM.

Employer of the year: Gold Medal Travel

Business Woman of the year: Louise Wilkinson, Lomeshaye Village Day Nursery

Best Use of Creativity in a business: Bizzi Growin

Entrepeneur of the year: Phil Lawson, Virtue

Professional Services Business of the year: Physiofusion

Manufacturer of the year: Scorpion Automotive

Excellence in customer service: Cleanall Services

Best Use of Information Technology: Direct 365

Construction business of the year: Conlon Construction

Leisure business of the year: Cartford Inn

Service business of the year: Cleanall Services

Exporter of the year: Evans Vanodine

Medium busines of the year: ROQ IT

New business of the year: Kabo

Micro business of the year: Group 55

Small Business of the year: Energy Ace

Lancastrian of the year: Ian Hall
