Traffic is busy but moving at the Higher Audley Street traffic lights junction, on the A677 Higher Eanam/Copy Nook Blackburn.

There is traffic congestion on A59 in Penwortham on the Liverpool Road junction, and traffic is going slow on the A677 Barbara Castle Way in Blackburn at the A666 Lark Hill junction.

There is slow traffic on A6 Ring Way in Preston at the A6063 Church Street traffic lights junction.

On the M57 northbound between junctions J1 and J3, there are currently delays of 10 minutes caused by congestion due to an earlier accident. Normal traffic conditions expected from 4.45 pm.

Gritters will be out on East Lancashire main roads from 7pm tonight. There are predictions of snow and ice and temperatures reaching - 3.4C.

All main roads in south and central Lancashire will be gritted tonight from 6.30pm. Ice is predicted and temperatures are expected to fall to -5C.

Gritters will be out on all main roads in north Lancashire from 4pm. Snow and ice is expected and temperatures are predicted to reach -6C.
