Main roads in East Lancashire will be gritted this afternoon from 2pm. Snow and road surface temperatures reaching -2.7C is predicted.

Road users across the north of England and the East Midlands region are being advised to check the latest weather forecast and road conditions before they travel tomorrow, Tuesday, February 5, between 2am and 9am, due to the snow that has been forecast. Motorists are advised to take extra care when travelling due to the increased risk of adverse driving conditions.

Main roads in East Lancashire will be gritted this afternoon. Snow and road surface temperatures reaching -2.7C is predicted.

Crews will be out patrolling main roads this afternoon, overnight and tomorrow morning, and will be ploughing and treating the roads with salt as required. Snow has been forecasted across all parts of the region and driving conditions are expected to be difficult with disruptions likely.

All area north routes in Lancaster, Wyre and Fylde are to be salted tonight at 6pm.

Delays include:

A583 Fylde Road in Ashton-on-Ribble, Preston busy but moving outbound at Fylde Tavern traffic lights.

There is slow traffic on A6 Ring Way in Preston at the A6063 Church Street traffic lights junction.

There is slow traffic on A583 Whitegate Drive in Blackpool between the B5263 Hornby Road junction and Devonshire Square.

The A677 Higher Eanam / Copy Nook in Blackburn is busy but moving at the Higher Audley Street traffic lights junction.

On the M67 eastbound between junctions J1 and J4, there are currently delays of 30 minutes due to heavy traffic. Normal traffic conditions expected from 5pm.
