Lancashire businessmen and women will have the opportunity to listen to two hugely influential speakers at upcoming business dinners.
The North and Western Lancashire Chamber of Commerce will host the county’s Lord Lieutenant, Baron Shuttleworth, and James Timpson, the Prince of Wales’s Responsible Business Ambassador for the North West.
Lord Shuttleworth has agreed to be the guest of honour at the Chamber’s annual business dinner on November 25.
Mr Timpson, CEO of multi-service business Timpson’s, will speak at the President’s Christmas Lunch event on December 11.
The annual business dinner, at the Blackpool Hilton Hotel, will immediately follow the 99th Chamber AGM.
That meeting will see the election of honorary Chamber members, council members, Chamber champions and the appointment of auditors. A three-course dinner will then be served to guests, with an address from the Lord Lieutenant on his time serving the county.
And at the Christmas lunch, hosted by Chamber president Norman Tenray at The Imperial Hotel in Blackpool, Mr Timpson will talk to guests about the company’s history and surviving the ever-changing high street.
He will also reveal its unique upside down management approach and the Timpson Foundation, which embraces the recruitment of ex-offenders and disadvantaged young people.
NWLCC chief executive Babs Murphy said: “It gives us great pleasure to welcome Lord Shuttleworth and James Timpson to our two flagship business dinners.
“These events are always a highlight in our calendar and this year will be no exception.”
