Top award for city apprentice

AN apprentice from Preston has been presented with a national award at the annual Busy Bees Training Academy graduation ceremony at the National Conference Centre in Birmingham.

Michael Bilsbrough, 30, was awarded the accolade of Catering Apprentice of the Year for his inspirational work at the nusery, triumphing over fellow learners from across the country.

Michael was also presented with his apprenticeship qualification at the graduation ceremony which was attended by family and friends.

The award went to the apprentice who has excelled during their apprenticeship programme, demonstrating excellent commitment, progress and enthusiasm.

Speaking about his win, Michael said; “I was really pleased to have won the award and to be recognised for the work that I do for Busy Bees.

“It came as a bit of a shock as it was a tough category but I’m very happy and I’m looking forward to continuing my work and training with the company in the future.”

Each of the winners received a special gift and award as well as a certificate to proudly display at home.

At the event, over 100 graduating apprentices of all levels from Busy Bees nurseries across the country gathered to celebrate the completion of apprenticeship programmes in catering, childcare and management.

The event aimed to recognise and reward the hard work and dedication displayed by learners in Busy Bees nurseries every day, as well as promote the exceptional value that Apprenticeships can bring to other businesses

Training Manager Fay Gibbin, said: “As education providers, we all need to highlight the benefits apprentices can bring to business owners.”
