Preston’s Christmas TV advert today went live across the Granada region.
The glossy 30-second advert featuring children in a winter wonderland will air across the North West until December 14.
The package will be seen by millions of potential visitors.
Preston - The Enchanted City – will be aired on ITV to an estimated potential audience of 4.5 million people, funded by Preston’s Business Improvement District.
It will be shown a total of 20 times, starting at 2.58pm today.
The advert will be shown in various time slots, including a premium spot in top soap Coronation Street on December 7.
BID events manager Mark Whittle said of the advert: “It’s creating the concept and feeling of Christmas being a family time and evoking that connection, rather than being an advert based purely on our physical offer.”
The city’s Christmas package began with the Christmas lights switch-on November 14 and was followed by the arrival of a five-week long Lancashire Market Christmas Festival.
The switch-on came after a major £50,000 investment by BID into the city’s Christmas lighting.
