A Preston retail park is on the up with a number of recent store openings.

Sofaworks is now open at Deepdale Shopping Park.

We really do have a sofa for everyone and our dedicated in-store team are here to help

The move comes as Oak Furniture Land, Harveys Furniture and Wren Kitchens have also chosen new bases on the park.

Sofa specialists Sofaworks has officially opened its doors to the people of Preston.

The family-run retailer has taken a store which is 15,000 sq ft over two floors, and took nine months to build.

It has recruited 12 Sofaworkers to help customers choose the right sofa for them.

Mike Smith, store manager of Sofaworks Preston, said: “We’ve been waiting over nine months to open our doors to the people of Preston to show off our designer range of sofas, chairs and sofa beds, all at all-year-round low prices.

“We really do have a sofa for everyone and our dedicated in-store team are here to help.”

Colin Gilligan, centre manager at Deepdale Shopping Park, says: “It’s an absolute pleasure to welcome Sofaworks to Deepdale.

“It’s a fantastic brand with exclusive sofa designs which our shoppers will love. Sofaworks joins more than 30 top UK retailers, and with even more openings planned at the park this year it’s an exciting time for Deepdale.”

Sofaworks was originally named CSL (Clayton Salerooms and CS Lounge Suites Ltd).

In 2011 the retailer invited retail guru Mary Portas into the business for her Channel 4 documentary Mary Portas: Secret Shopper.

As a result of the January 2011 TV show, the business started to campaign for transparency of pricing and discount offers, offering to help change UK law surrounding what qualifies as a genuine discount in a sale.
