A new city centre map of Preston has been unveiled.
Featuring the city’s key attractions, graphics graduate Ric Bixter, alongside UCLan graphics tutor Pete Thompson, developed the map on behalf of Preston Council and the Business Improvement District (BID).
It will be available at locations including the Visitor Information Centre, the train station, hotels and the university.
Mayor of Preston, Coun Veronica Afrin, said: “It’s important that visitors to Preston can find out what’s on offer along with being a practical aid to those unfamiliar with the city, giving a great first impression.”
BID marketing manager Mark Whittle said: “We are delighted to have partnered with UCLan and the City Council to develop this new map. A lot of work has gone in to development and we are excited to see this appear across the city highlighting Preston’s offer.”
UCLan tutor Pete Thompson added: “I have worked with maps for a number of years now before the opportunity arose for the creation of a new map for Preston city centre. I am really looking forward to all the hard work finally in print and being used.”
