A Longridge building firm is celebrating after landing a major contract with Lancashire County Council.
Walter Carefoot & Sons (Construction) Ltd has secured a place on a strategic framework agreement as a Partner for construction work on buildings owned by Lancashire County Council.
The Agreement could be worth up to £20m and takes effect immediately for the next four years.
Works will include both new build and refurbishment projects from £100,000 up to £15,000,000 in value.
Carefoots are specialists in the education sector and have previously completed almost 70 Partnered projects, mainly on schools, for Lancashire County Council under previous Framework Agreements together.
Other projects will include Offices, Libraries, Day Centres, Care Homes and Children’s Centres.
The family owned company is headed up by managing director Colin Carefoot.
Mr Carefoot said: “We are really pleased to have been selected for this framework agreement once again. Lancashire County Council selection procedure is an arduous but thorough process which examines all aspects of a company performance and is a process that is based on evidence, particularly performance on previously completed projects.
“We have had a long association with Lancashire County Council and are looking forward to continuing our relationship with them for at least the next four years under this agreement and beyond.”
Carefoot already have similar Framework Agreements in place with councils across the North West including Bolton Council and Cheshire East Council with all the agreements together providing a steady stream of work.
