“SUPER CARROTS” are hitting the shelves of a national retailer, thanks to Lancashire company Huntapac Produce.

The Super A Carrot is now available in Marks and Spencer tores around the UK, as part of the active-health range of fresh fruit and vegetables.

The wonder-carrot is rich in beta-carotene, an antioxidant that the body coverts into vitamin A.

It delivers 30 per cent more than standard varieties.

The Super A Carrots have been exclusively grown for M&S on Huntapac Produce’s sandy and fertile land in Tarleton, near Preston.

Huntapac Produce has a long standing relationship with M&S, having supplied vegetables for almost 37 years.

Employing more than 350 people from the local area to produce 2,500 acres of carrots and parsnips, and 500 acres of salads and brassicas each year, the fourth generation family-owned business takes pride in supplying UK produce all year round.

Huntapac Produce has already been recognised for its excellent service and approach to innovation and sustainability.

The company was recently awarded the title Vegetable Grower of the Year at the UK Growers Awards 2015, which recognise and reward the best in the UK food production industry.

Rachel Alty, National Account Manager at Huntapac Produce, said: “Our Super A Carrots are packed with vitamins and make for a really healthy choice.

“We’re proud of our long-standing relationship with Marks & Spencer and hope that customers enjoy these exclusive, quality vegetables.”
