A company which employs around 500 in Preston has bought a Midlands based gas business to further its expansion plans.
HomeServe Membership, the home assistance company which has an office in Caxton Way, Fulwood, has acquired Nottingham-based Home Energy Services, a major gas service and repair business, formerly part of E.ON, for an undisclosed figure.
The combined business will have more than 600 directly-employed specialist engineers, supported by a trusted panel of third-party service providers and a growing gas franchising business, covering the full range of heating, plumbing and drainage and electrics services, serving over two million customers across the UK.
The company said the Home Energy Services hub and its people in Nottingham will work with HomeServe centres in Preston, Walsall and Banbury to become a critical part of HomeServe’s service deployment network. Martin Bennett, CEO of HomeServe Membership said: “This will be an important step for both HomeServe and Home Energy Services.
