Industry collaborations have been selected to receive funding through the first round of calls in the North West via the National Aerospace Technology Exploitation Programme (NATEP).
Triumph Actuation Systems UK & IOM with I2M (Innovate to Manufacture) Ltd are working on the Additive Manufactured Actuation System (AMAS) Project, which will be funded jointly through NATEP and Welsh Government. BAE Systems are an interested party in the project and are highly interested in the project outcome.
The AMAS project aims to develop compact, strong, and lightweight actuators for small platforms. The project will develop a ‘close to product’, electro-mechanical actuator which serves as a technology prototype to demonstrate the feasibility and capability of using Additive Manufacturing processes to produce a lightweight actuation solution.
