Preston-based information technology and telecommunications firm Genesis IT has relocated to new premises at Meadowcroft Business Park, Whitestake.

The move comes just 20 months after the firm moved to offices on Preston’s Riversway, which the company has already outgrown.

Founded in Leyland in 2002 by MD Mike Rushworth, the ambitious company provides IT installation and data management services to a range of businesses in Lancashire.

With the majority of its work requiring substantial levels of hardware, the firm quickly outgrew its former premises. The new location was chosen from a shortlist of five candidates.

Mike Rushworth, managing director at Genesis IT, said: “Location is extremely important to us as we offer a one-hour response time to all our clients, so we couldn’t move too far away from our previous base.

“In addition, we provide a cloud-based support service, so Meadowcroft Business Park’s offer of fibre-optic broadband was a big appeal for us.

“We’re already on the lookout for a new field technician and will also be creating a number of posts to support further business growth,” added Mr Rushworth.
