Just 16 months since opening its doors to members, a Longridge fitness and gym business is set to expand next month.

And owner of OTP Fitness Oliver Pye has also started an innovative and fun scheme for toddlers and youngsters to exercise regularly ‘doing the Boogie Bounce.’

It’s a very effective fitness class which is perfect for any age and ability...and a unique and great fun way to burn fat.

The expansion plans for a bigger fitness suite and additional spin room will run through June for completion in July – and so will the Boogie Bounce! Youngsters from Little People at the Limes in Longridge and the Coppice School in Bamber Bridge have been given inspiration by Oliver for starting physical activity by doing one hour of the bounce a week.

He says “It’s a very effective fitness class which is perfect for any age and ability...and a unique and great fun way to burn fat. I choreographed routines for all the kids to their favourite songs, and also included games which help them learn numbers and shapes.”

For the special Coppice School, for children aged two to 19 years, he was able to slow each routine down. He said: “For some, movement can be a hard task, but we look to repeat all their favourite routines each week, making it more enjoyable.”

For both groups, Boogie Bounce has been a huge success, Oliver adds. “It has shown them that fitness can be made fun. They use key essential skills such as listening, watching and communicating. Both groups may consider doing other fitness sessions appropriate to their age and fitness ability.”

From the start of June, OTP Fitness will begin the expansion, with plans eventually for an open day.

Oliver said: “Our aim is to offer more weekly and unique classes for a wider range of age groups and fitness abilities at an affordable price.”
