Lancashire’s independent wine retailer Aged In Oak Wine Company has been shortlisted as one of three finalists in the Independent Newcomer of the Year category at the National 2014 Drinks Retailing Awards.
The highly prestigious national awards are hosted and run by the drinks trade industry magazine Off Licence News.
They recognise the achievements of independent retailers who have recently joined the industry and have successfully built a new business with flair and determination.
Co-owners Alex Buxton and Emma Bailie trade as Aged in Oak Wine Company, both online and from Garstang High Street.
They opened to the public in December 2012.
Alex and Emma will find out if they have won their category at an awards ceremony at The Dorchester Hotel, London, on February 4 next year.
Alex, who is originally from Longridge and now lives with Emma in Preston, said, “We are thrilled to have been shortlisted for this respected industry award.
“There are some fantastic independent retailers trading up and down the country who all work incredibly hard, so just to be nominated is a coup.
“It shows that we are doing something right and it’s great to have our hard work recognised in our first year of business.
“We’re inspired to keep striving to bring a great product and experience to our customers and fingers crossed we can bring home the silverware to Lancashire in February!”
